Neglecting Health Insurance

A lot of people believe health insurance is a mess in our country, I would agree with this statement. There is a a huge demogrphic that we are not holding accountable and that is the 20 something year olds who can afford health insurance. This group can get good health insurance for a good price. They can get major accidents for under $60/month, full coverage with high deductable for around $100/month, and great coverage with small deductable for around 200/month. For some reason our society has decided it is more important to have the latest cell phone with internet service, the full package of cable t.v., new cars, designer jeans, notebooks, etc. rather than insuring their own health. If your a 20 something year old reading this article, get your sh*# together!

A New Look On Life

31 days ago I was in a ski accident on Mt Hood. I broke 11 ribs, punctured a lung, broke my T-1 Vertabrae and seperated my shoulder. I had fluid filling up my lung and it was as 30% chance I wasn't going to make it the first day. I am happy to say that I have been out of the trauma unit for two weeks and healing wonderfuly! Having this type of experience makes you think hard about your life, and I have decided the most important thing is time. Time with your loved ones. Time to learn. Time to enjoy the little things. I have been spending a lot of time soul searching and have asked myself what seperates one person from the next? Is it the family they were born into? Is it their country? Is it Luck? All three probably have to do something with it. But most of all, the people who are successful know where they want to go and they go there. More on this later...

50,000/yr Millionaire

Let me tell you about a trend I am seeing in 20 something year old males in our society. I call it the 50,000/yr millionaire. These guys are renting 400/month rooms from friends or craiglist ads but buying $40,000 cars, $200 jeans, and bar bills north of a $100, yet the majority of them are not saving for their future or investing in themselves. Its a real sad situation. I have seen close friends of mine travel this path, they have racked up huge amount of debt by partying in vegas, buying BMW's, designer clothes, all while living at home or in some sh*# hole. Maybe I will start a blog or at least posts about what 20 something's should be doing to prepare themselves for their future lives, and to quit the Bull sh*# and grow up.

How to create traffic to your Blog...

This morning I read different ways to generate traffic to my blog ( I have only had 1 viewer) and I have decided to implement one strategey.

Strategey 1:

Read other Blogs and comment! I think this is a great Idea!! I will read other blogs that interest me and see if I can get their readers to read and comment about my blog. Lets see what happens over the next 7 days while I implement this.

First day as a Blogger!

What can I say, this is my first day writing a Blog let alone reading a Blog. The purpose of this blog is to find a balance between building a career and building a family. I am a 27 year old Enginer student who is getting married at the end of summer. Ideally I want to create a career in the Engineering Industry that will allow me to work from anywhere in the world. I want to split my time between the Pacific Northwest and the Florida Keys. I want this to be an open discussion blog, a blog where people can offer career advice, marriage advice, or any advice they may have! Also, I have a dog named Thor, and he will show up on the blog from time to time.

I believe in the 1440 club. Starting April 2nd I will be making BIG changes to my life to capatilize on the 1440 everyday. First, I will be getting rid of my T.V. Second, I will be reading one book per two weeks that will help me improve myself or teach me something about my career or relationship.

So please join me on this journey from the Pacific Northwest to the Florida Keys.
